  1. Different options to resolve the relationship between the 2 organizations were considered. It was agreed that either winding up of the Society or maintaining a status quo situation would not be desirable.

  2. It was decided that the Society and the College will remain as separate bodies and their roles need to be redefined for the best interest of their members and Hong Kong.

  3. The Society should maintain its position in the Federation.

  4. The College should assume authority in advising government and other official bodies on policy matters.

  5. Representation and membership of the Society with the FIGO and AOFOG should be transferred to the College. It has been agreed in principle that for full members and associate members of the Society who were not members of the College should not suffer from such a change. Compensation measures proposed include :
  6. Delivery of health education programs to the public should be largely organized by the Society.

  7. The Society shall continue to organize scientific programs in the evenings as it has always been. The College may also contribute to the CME program by organizing whole day O&G Seminars as in the past 2 years.

  8. Essentials steps to achieve the above arrangements would include :
    1. Such an arrangements should be approved by the College Council.
    2. The Society would inform its members and get their approval as this involves an amendment of the constitution.
    3. Eventually a formal agreement should be signed by the Society and the College in the form of a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding.
    4. A joint application would then be made to FIGO and AOFOG for transfer of membership to the College.
