(Vol.8 No.7 --- September 2003)

The summer holiday is over. Health care workers take no summer holiday but our children do and so we have to follow suit. Ever since I have shared with you my travelling experience in Hokaido, a lot of my friends have been interested in where I am going to spend my next holiday. I just came back from a trip to Australia but I think most of you probably have been more familiar with that "down under" place than I do. I therefore am going to write some thing about Dubai instead in the next issue. I hope not many of you have been to there and you would again find my information useful. My family spent a few days in Dubai just before the second gulf war.

Dr. Juliana Chan, a very busy academic as you know has kindly prepared this issue's medical section on diabetes mellitus and obesity for the HKMD just before she leaves for a trip to Europe. She and her colleagues have taken a more "philosophical" approach in writing the articles. Considering the wide variety of our readers, I hope more of them would find such an approach to the two common problems fascinating and interesting. Perhaps you can consider giving us your feedback by writing to us. Your opinion would be published if I can understand what you are talking about.

See you again next month.
