(Vol.8 No.6 --- August 2003)

Last December, we had an issue on Forensic Medicine. The papers were so good that some colleagues I heard had kept that issue of HKMD for their future reference. If you read this issue's single paper in the medical section on law and medical ethics written by Dr. Hau Kong-lung, you would agree with me that this is a very important and comprehensive medical paper that bears a quality that is not commonly seen even in foreign medical journals. I have exceptionally included the reference list this time because I think some health care workers may want to know what information source do the forensic people use as their reference.

Since it is our children's summer holiday, I have tried to add some fun by inviting Dr. Lai Bing-Man, the FMSHK Photography Interest Group convenor, to provide us with some interesting photographs. Any person who has an interest in photography can contact Dr. Lai because the Group is going to prepare a web site for the members to place their photographic work.

Dr. Patrick Ho sent us the Chinese version of his speech in a SARS meeting. I think it is not too untimely to print it in this issue when we are still not sure whether the SARS crisis has been over or not.
