Dear members and colleagues,
The new Council is formed by representatives from various nursing fields and has taken office at the Annual General Meeting on 10 January 2004. To increase our efficacy and publicity, we would endeavour to strengthen the communication network, re-examine the roles and functions of Council members and explore means to improve membership services. As a professional association, the College will continue to pursue professional development of nursing through effort of the Council and all members.
We have revised our Memorandum and Article of Association of the College to facilitate changes over the years and to meet legal requirements. The new version was moved for adoption at the Extraordinary General Meeting on 10 January 2004. The new prints are sent to members for reference.
Last November, College representatives participated at the 4th ICN Asia Workforce Forum in Seoul, Korea. At the forum, country/regional representatives from different background and culture with similar problems in Asian region had discussed issues related to occupational health and safety, health and labour policy, professional development, manpower issues and member associations' concerns in social economic welfare issues for nurses. The next Forum will be hosted by Thailand Nurses Association in Bangkok, Thailand in coming November.
Due to SARS outbreak, the College had omitted the annual conference last year. For this year, we have our 15th annual conference on June 19th at Holiday Inn, Golden Miles. We look forward to your participation and support.

會 長 的 話
各位會員及同業：
新一屆理事會經已組成。我謹代表學院感謝大家一直以來的支持和關顧。議會委員各護理組別的代表已於二零零四年一月十日週年大會上接任。為提高工作效率和宣傳，我們將盡力加強聯絡和溝通渠道、強化議會委員的責任和功能，並努力尋求改善會員服務。面臨護理和醫療衛生服務的急劇轉變，學院需要掌握時代脈摶。我深信新的理事會，將會同心合力為學院和會員服務。
學院為改進組織章程大綱及組織章程細則(M&A)部份內容的準確性及依據公司法要求將它作出修訂。修訂版亦於二零零四年一月十日特別會員大會上獲得通過。新版M&A現正在印製中，不日將寄發給會員保存及參考。
二零零三年十一月，學院代表出席於韓國漢城舉行的第四屆國際護士協會亞洲區人力資源研討會。讓亞洲區協會成員組織就職業安全、勞工政策、護理專業發展、人力資源等等項目作深入探討和分享經驗。下一屆之研討會，將會於二零零四年十一月在泰國曼谷舉行。
由於SARS的影響，學院去年的學術會議無法如期進行。今年，學院除了會繼續努力為會員同業提供進修學習機會外，亦會舉辦各種會議、研討會，讓大家交換心得。六月十九日，學院將於金域假日酒店舉辦第十五屆學術會議。希望會員同業繼續支持學院活動，踴躍參與。
