Sudden surge of SARS patients had overwhelmed the public health system. Health care staff struggled round the clock to save lives in the battle against the deadly disease. The need of helps in some hospitals is greater than others. In preparing to support hospitals greatly affected, nurses were deployed using a selection system to work in wards with SARS patients, if required. Some nurses volunteered to standby for duty in SARS wards.
